AVR-8-380 is an electronic device that allows an alternator to produce a constant output voltage.
The unit measures the voltage of the voltage that varies from phase to phase connection and is able to drive alternators that require high excitation voltages.
The unit does not have a neutral connection and is ideally suited for marine use.
The sensing loss protection circuit disables the output when there is no voltage on the sensing input.
An analog input of ±3V is provided which allows for external voltage adjustment. The AVR has a fixture for a CT droop connection, to allow parallel running with other similarly equipped generators.
An overload protection circuit limits the output current to its rated value, preventing the device from malfunctioning under overload or short circuit.
